The traffic still sucks, as does the smell. Katie and I wandered around for dinner last night on the streets which was a bit of fun, over all. We're going to bed decently early though, because we're always so exhausted.
It's funny how much Katie loves everything- from their boxed noodles to the squatter toilets. It's a little ridiculous, but it definitely keeps me amused, so I can't really complain. And you can't drink the tap water at all ever [and it usually smells, so you don't even want to], so we're always getting bottled water- and man, we go through about 5 liters a day. Crazy, right?? Seriously... It's a little ridiculous, but its nice to stay hydrated so I shouldn't complain too much.
We got to go to the Beijing Branch for church today, which was cool. It was a long subway trip though, and we stayed for two awesome hours- great talks and lessons- before heading back. Though we stopped at a bakery on the way for lunch, and I got this pigs in a blanket thing- a pastry roll which melted cheese on top, then a thin sausage inside. Super light and fluffy and delicious! Katie got this pizza pie thing which was pretty tasty as well. We are just loving the food!!
Tomorrow is the day for what I really came for- the great wall and the terra cotta soldiers! Those are the clay figures and all of them are totally different. I'm a little worried because it's all a bit of a hike, but I'm really hoping I survive and don't die. Especially since it'll be out in the sun- not cool. People are letting me borrow their sunscreen though, and umbrella which is so nice of them. My neck is pretty burned, but nothing else so far. Although I do have this huge bug bite- all about the size of my full thumb- but it doesn't itch too mcuh so I can't really complain.
