Slept in, yay, till about 9 or so. Finally got up,
immediately turned on heater, and to the computer. Katie came out and we
finished the mentalist. However I found some Community episodes so we watched
one of those, and then we decided to go to the grocery store.
Only took thirty minutes, but got some candy for the kids as
well as more things to take home. Luckily didn’t cost as much as expected,
although we can’t find the stringy mushrooms that we’d hoped for. Oh well… Got
noodle bowls!
Came back, watched another episode of Community then I turned
to Twisted as Katie skyped with Andrew again. I said hi for a few minutes and
then they kept chatting. Then soon we had to head to school.
Katie taught and I worked on a review lesson for the
classes. Then she came back and we talked for a bit and all before we both had
to go teach again.
Grade 4 was super distracted and it was pretty frustrating.
Still, they can shush for a minute or two- but when I start talking again, so
do they. Its pretty frustrating sometimes, but I do work on connecting with a
few students and that always works.
Grade 3 was neither better or worse, just a bit… more than
Grade 4. I had to break up a ton of groups chatting, take away some kids paper
for drawing, and so on. It was frustrating as well, though I managed to keep a
smile on my face and led them through a few fun things in the book after all,
which several of them were able to enjoy.
We went to dinner after. Nothing fantastic, although the
cabbage dish they added a lot of spice which was good but still a bit of a
battle. Helps to mix with rice, although that seems to be weird stuff to others
I suppose here… Ah well.
We headed home shortly after, ran into Philip, black guy.
Awkward conversation before we headed up, and watched a bit of Community and
ate cake!
