Mondays! Yay!
So originally we’d been thinking we’d do something that
morning. I didn’t have classes until 2, so why not? We only have four weeks
left, after all. I’m even setting my alarm at seven-ish every morning to start
getting ready to waking up on a schedule. I mean, if I end up dozing after,
that’s okay- for now.
Which I ended up doing.
As did Katie.
Plus I was getting over an annoying cold- seriously- so it
was very relaxing and necessary to drink water and stay in bed as long as
possible.
Also there was a beautiful layer of fog outside.
Spectacularly so, to be honest, I couldn’t see the buildings across the street.
Katie pointed it out because it just seemed like all the blinds were closed,
like they sometimes are. But nope, this was fog! Lovely chilly beautiful
awesome fog!
However, of course, we eventually had to get up.
We were just in time for a good lunch! We ate a bit, and
then Greg joined us whilst eating. Katie and I were finishing up our final
bites when who but the cook arrived. Again. With more food. Again. Okay, this
time wasn’t too bad- hot fried eggs, and then a freaking huge bowl of noodles.
The latter was good, but we were stuffed so soon!
Greg kindly took that off our hands as we left. I grabbed a
toothpick on the way to grab something out of my teeth again.
Which I spent working on for like a good ten minutes. It was
embarrassing how bad I am at using a toothpick. The food eventually was spat
out. Along with blood, yay! I poked myself. In the gums. With a freaking
toothpick. Definitely not one of my proudest moments.
And it seriously hurt.
Inflamed for more than the next 24 hours, by the way.
Hurtful. Very painful.
I worked on distracting myself by prepping for classes. The
book is boring to work with in Grade 3 and I don’t have anything for 4 and 5 so
basically I needed to find something from scratch, right? I began creating
another Trivia form because the kids had really enjoyed that last week.
Finally I taught the first class- a bit crazier than usual,
unfortunately. I figured it was because of being a Monday, however, and did my
best to take it in stride. The kids were hyperactive with everything and my
slide- teaching them 8 new words- was way too much and over their heads,
unfortunately. So I stopped in the middle of that [if it’s not working soon
then it won’t work at all and you have to learn to adjust the sails as you go],
and we worked in the books for the rest of class.
Class 3 was similar as well. They had been so amazing last
week! And then they were a little rough this Monday. Seriously, I forgot how
crazy kids can really be. It’s not too fun. But again, I took it well and
motivated them and we had a bit of a better time than the last class. It lasted
all right, until I lost track of the time and thought class ended ten till the
hour… instead of on the hour.
Anyways, I ended up letting them out like 2-3 minutes early.
Purely on accident! I’m double checking every class since that moment so it
never happens again. However, they were immediately grabbing their books and
running to their next class. That’s when I realized I hadn’t really heard the
bell and finally looked again at my schedule- huge oops. That was such an
embarrassing and shameful moment! I felt so bad, so I hung around with the
final few kids still grabbing their things.
They were off to singing class next, which takes a little
while to get to, and it looks like they all really love that, so hopefully
their teacher didn’t mind them coming a minute too early! Seriously, never
happening again. Ever.
Finished with my classes, I wished Katie good luck as she
went to teach hers. And they were pretty crazy, also! Jeesh… oh well… Except her final class was cancelled
for some reason, so we left and walked down to the bus stop to board at 5.
We headed into town and wanted to try to find the places we
had once gone with Nicole that first time out on the town. But I hadn’t a clue
and Katie wasn’t sure, so we ended up just taking off a stop- tons of food by
the stop, very yummy- and then we walked backwards a few yards up to a huge
roundabout above with a ton of shops!
Some of them are very unreasonably priced, but sometimes you
find something good! And we were looking for that something good. We headed up
and wandered through! We found some sweaters for 40 and bought one each- super
cute ones! And then kept wandering… Katie bought a tights-skirt combo thing,
very popular here and she pulls them off very well! We didn’t buy anything
after that, and finally headed out.
We passed the food again and purchased things at a stop- she
was going to get chow mein but a potato dish next to it looked good, so that’s
what she got. And then next to those two was an omelet wrap thingy I decided to
try. They only put half the sauce on there, like I asked… but that still nearly
killed me, too! It was insanely spicy. Katie’s was, too, only moreso. It was a
miracle we survived.
Soon enough we were back at the mall… at H&M. I know,
again, it’s crazy. But Katie wanted to find skirts and I like clearance and
having new adventures like that so we wandered around, I tried a few things,
and we walked away with some goodies as well.
Before leaving the mall, we turned in and to the left to
Happy Lemon again. Don’t do soggy oreos, remembered, so she got some milk tea
with ‘sago’ or ‘boba’ and I got a chocolate with puff cream. The girl thought
we were crazy for not wanting them hot. And it was cold outside, but the drinks
are better colder and all, so… yeah… that’s what we did. And these ones were
good! Very good! The first time a bit of an appointment but these were
delicious!
Cheerfully and chilled we headed up towards the bus stop-
side of the mall is putting up a big Christmas tree! Katie couldn’t stop
squealing when she saw they were to decorate it. I don’t mind- my lips were
otherwise engaged with a large delicious drink, anyways. Still, it was a lovely
sight to see before boarding the bus, getting seats, and heading home happily.
We watched ‘Momento’ with Guy Pearce. Another famous ‘top’
movie. Seriously trippy- clips of time, but they’re going backwards to get the
story and it’s about this guy who can’t form new memories and is trying to find
his wife’s murderer… I don’t know, it’s just crazy. Super trippy, pretty cool.
Very impressive, I think…
And then bed time! Finally!
