Friday, thank goodness-
Crazy how fast the week flew by.
We were going to go to breakfast, but didn’t. we were super
cold and tired. I had even left the heater turned on that night and it didn’t
do enough. That’s how cold it is.
Anyways, we slept in for another hour or so before getting
up, dressing and heading to school just in time for Katie to teach her morning
class.
I tried writing for a short while until she returned and
then I had to teach!
Grade 5 was pretty crazy, kids moving around the whole time.
Still have about 3 kids loving how I don’t speak Chinese. We’ll see how much
they love it when I grade them this next week! For the final half of class, I
only had two of them listening. I had broken up a few fights, stop kids from
throwing things, and so on.
Literally
towards the end I was just interacting with two kids because they’re the only
ones who listened! It was bad. Although I had about three girls at the end of
class say it wasn’t over, we hadn’t heard the bell or anything. They almost got
me! But I saw her watch she was trying to hide and it was fine!
Katie and I headed out shortly after that. We skipped lunch
at the school to go out for street food. We hit up the corner, bought drinks
and then sat for the delicious dumplings! Then we waited forever and finally
got on the bus. Which has definitely been much more crowded than usual, I
swear!
We went home and chilled for a while, doing laundry and
cleaning up and Katie skyped Andrew and we made a final trip to the grocery
store after.
Then we stayed in for the day. Katie didn’t want to get any
more food after that, so we stayed in the almost warm apartment.
Also decided to do one more all night movie night with Abby
and Greg- with Christmas movies!
They came over around 8 with a blanket, some snacks and
movies. We tried them on the TV but its super picky and none of them worked so
we pulled out my computer. First we watched the santa clause, because it’s a
classic! Then we realized Its' a Wonderful Life didn’t work on my
computer, so we paused to watch Frosty the Snowman [because you can’t resist
that] as well.
We switched computers and I dozed for It’s a Wonderful Life.
My first time seeing it, too. Yes I felt a little bad. Then I was awake for
Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer. After that, we watched Elf. By the time the
movie ended it was 3 and we all had to admit how we were seriously dozing. Half
way through my eyes kept closing and I couldn’ve sworn the movie wasn’t moving
in the right order and I thought there was a dragon in it too. So we called it
quits, and abby and greg finally headed home to sleep.
I dragged the heater back to my room and we went to bed.
