Tuesday!
We had decided we’d go for breakfast but at the time to be
getting ready to go, Katie was still in bed and then I slowed down and by the
time we got up and ready, we were a bit late heading over so… we picked up
bread and yogurt at the bakery instead!
Tuesday morning is my crazy class. Still a ton of chaos,
although now there’s a slight illusion of control.
Afterwards was lunch and Katie headed out to try and play
with a modem Nicole had gotten for us to set up the internet. During that time,
I fiddled around on the internet and set up a few powerslides for my upcoming
classes.
Then Nicole came around, needing Abby and Greg to record
their voices so the kids could take English tests and such. I had to call and
hope they were still hanging around, which luckily they were so they headed
over for that and I headed off to my classes.
Grade 4 was good and they’re becoming possibly my best
class, so that’s pretty swell. They quiet down extra fast on the clapping-
unfortunately, there was a lot of fighting going on that I couldn’t control and
rarely actually saw. And it’s just super confusing when the kids are tattling
on one another, that sort of thing. Because of that, there was no dvd.
I hadn’t taught Grade 5 that last Friday, so I promised the
next would be some Halloween fun. For some reason that day it took forever to
settle the class down. I talked a few minutes out Hong Kong which the kids were
super excited about. Even then I didn’t have everyone listening, which was a
bit frustrating.
Overall, I ended up covering my last fun Halloween
presentation which we covered for a bit before it was movie time- Casper Meets
Wendy for the final time thank goodness- and then I passed out candy. No one
really complained, thank goodness, and this class was usually good so I gave
them two each!
Grade 3 Class 3 was a bit crazy but one of the boys pulled
out the DVD so we ended up going over the sounds for a short while. That helped
to calm them down a bit, thank goodness. We reviewed a few words, but the kids
were constantly fiddling with other lines and such, going a bit stir crazy. And
lots more fighting, I don’t know whats been up with all these kids lately. Oh,
and the class can’t really spell well but they eventually get the idea and such
thank goodness. They did well but we were so busy, I was only able to give them
like 2 minutes of Pigeon Impossible before the bell rang for dinner.
Which was boring.
Afterwards we spent a while talking with Abby and Greg about
money and future plans as well, like we’re working on a Beihai trip, and money
coming up. Oh and one of Katie’s first graders has invited us with their
parents, to spent Saturday with them partying. Or something like that. Then we
borrowed some of their movies and headed home.
